At Carlin, we are seeking an experienced Ecological Team Lead to spearhead our environmental team and drive growth. This is a unique opportunity to lead a multi-disciplinary team of ecological professionals and contribute to the success of our planning consultancy.

CARLIN is a fast-growing Belfast-based planning and environmental consultancy that values innovation and excellence. Our Ecology team has been instrumental in delivering complex projects, requiring Environmental Impact Assessment and Appropriate Assessment, for a diverse range of public and private sector clients across NI and ROI.

Job Overview

This role offers a competitive salary of £35,000 - £60,000, depending on experience, with performance-based bonuses. The successful candidate will have flexibility in their working hours, with a balance of office and field-based work. We welcome applications from ambitious and motivated ecological leads who can shape and lead our ecological team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and grow the environmental team, driving business growth and delivering exceptional results.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance team performance and client satisfaction.
  • Coordinate Environmental Statements/Reports and oversee project management of complex ecological projects.
Requirements
  • 5+ years' experience in a similar role, with at least 3 years in a leadership position.
  • Proven track record of managing and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate others and work collaboratively.

Please note that this role requires a strong ecological background, experience in conducting a range of ecological surveys/reports, and CIEEM membership or equivalent.
