Role Overview

As a Health and Safety Advisor at Bouygues TP, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental governance on our Sizewell C project. This 3.2-gigawatt power station will generate low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, making a significant impact on the UK's energy future.

Your Responsibilities

  • Conducting planned project inspections and site tours to identify potential risks and hazards.
  • Performing pre-work site inspections to evaluate and mitigate risks, ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.
  • Reviewing unplanned events and supporting project/site management with investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Liaising with clients and contractors to foster strong working relationships and ensure effective communication.
  • Preparing comprehensive reports following site visits, inspections, audits, and investigations to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintaining project documentation up to date and compliant with our Business Management System (BMS), ensuring seamless integration with our project management processes.
  • Monitoring and adapting to new legislation to maintain compliance and ensure our project remains at the forefront of industry best practices.
  • Communicating lessons learned to drive continuous improvement and promote a positive health, safety, and environmental culture within the project team.

Requirements

  • A strong ability to influence and promote a positive HSES culture, with a proven track record of driving behavioral change.
  • Expertise in incident and accident investigation, with a deep understanding of the UK Health and Safety Regulatory Framework.
  • Excellent report-writing skills and the ability to engage at all levels, from project stakeholders to senior management.
  • Broad experience in complex construction and civil projects, including specialist operations such as lifting, working at height, and temporary works.
