Smiths, a leading asbestos removal contractor, is seeking an experienced Asbestos Removal Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient removal of asbestos from various sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Site setup and documentation
  • Supervision and leadership of a team of operatives
  • Maintenance of accurate and timely site records
  • Site housekeeping

Liaison with:

  • Asbestos Manager
  • Asbestos Administrator
  • Site Management
  • The Client
  • HSE Inspectors
  • Sub-contractors

Hands-on Supervising:

  • Positioning and setting up decontamination units
  • Positioning NPU's, generators, and other equipment
  • Securing and sealing waste skips
  • Building air and bag locks
  • Maintaining the integrity and sheeting of enclosures
  • Fixing transit routes and warning signs/tape
  • Checking personal RPE prior to each shift
  • Smoke testing
  • Setting up and maintaining negative pressure
  • Removal of asbestos
  • Preparing for 4-Stage clearance
  • Updating Asbestos Manager on progress and any issues
  • Ordering and receiving plant and materials
  • Adherence to Health and Safety legislation

Requirements

  • At least 1 year of experience as an Asbestos Supervisor
  • At least 2 years of experience in asbestos removal
  • CSCS card
  • Full UK driving license

Working Conditions

This is a full-time, permanent position with a guaranteed minimum of 42.5 hours per week. Pay: From £33,000.00 per year.
