Pharmacy Quality Assurance Technician

Polar Speed Distribution Ltd is a company that specializes in temperature-controlled deliveries to hospitals, pharmacies, wholesalers, and medical care surgeries. As a Pharmacy Quality Assurance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and quality of our pharmacy services.
We are looking for an experienced individual who can provide accurate final checking on homecare prescriptions and technical dispensing assistance to the Responsible Pharmacist. The successful candidate will have a strong background in pharmacy services and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
The estimated salary for this role is £31,683.12 per annum, which includes a competitive package of benefits such as 28 days holiday (including bank holidays), building to 33 days (including bank holidays) in the sixth full holiday year (PRO RATA). We also offer a company pension scheme with 5% company contribution and private healthcare through UPS Perks at Work scheme.
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- To ensure all activities meet and integrate with Quality Management Systems, Health and Safety requirements, COSSH regulations and environmental policies.
- Carry out final checking of dispensed items in accordance with approved protocols and standard operating procedures.
- Supervise and participate in the dispensing and supply of medicinal products in accordance with the requirements of: The Medicine Act, Medicines, Ethics and Practise guide, good distribution practice.
- Actively drive the Clinical Governance standards within the Pharmacy services, and assist in regular performance audits.
- Actively participate in the training and development of the Pharmacy team.
Requirements
- NVQ Level 3, Pharmacy Services, plus Pharmacy Quality Assurance Technician qualification.
- Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
- Meticulous and thorough with an excellent attention to details.
- Able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines, whilst motivating others to achieve success.
- Team player mentality with the ability to work on own initiative, self-motivated to deliver continuous improvements.
- Demonstrate a clear patient focus.
- Demonstrate self-audit and accept responsibility for actions.
