Job Description

We are seeking an innovative and passionate Engineering Educator to join our team. As an Engineering Educator, you will be responsible for planning and delivering engaging engineering lessons, covering all key stages, aligned with national curriculum standards.

You will support student progress by using effective teaching strategies and providing individual guidance. You will create a dynamic learning environment where students can develop key engineering skills and knowledge.

Your contributions will help us achieve our goal of raising achievement and fostering a culture of innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Teach engineering concepts, including mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering, with practical applications.
  2. Collaborate with colleagues to design and refine curriculum units, ensuring lessons are challenging and relevant.
  3. Utilize hands-on projects, labs, and real-world problem-solving to deepen student understanding of engineering.
  4. Assess student progress through formative and summative assessments, adapting teaching to address strengths and weaknesses.
  5. Encourage students to participate in engineering-related extracurricular activities, including enrichment programs, workshops, and industry visits.
  6. Work with the Special Educational Needs (SEN) team to ensure inclusive learning opportunities for all students.
  7. Foster a strong classroom culture of discipline, teamwork, and respect.
Requirements
  1. Qualified teacher status (QTS) with a focus on secondary education.
  2. Degree in engineering or a related field, with strong knowledge in areas such as mechanics, robotics, electronics, or materials science.
  3. Passion for teaching engineering and the ability to inspire students through real-world applications.
  4. Commitment to ongoing professional development and Dunbar Education's values of inclusion, innovation, and excellence.
