BSL Teaching Support Professional

Tempest Resourcing is seeking a skilled BSL Teaching Assistant to support the learning and educational progress of pupils with hearing impairments in a Primary School in Lewisham.
About the Role:
This full-time position offers the opportunity to work under the guidance of the Teacher of the Deaf, utilising a Total Communication approach to ensure Deaf pupils can access learning both in their mainstream classroom and in our specialised Centre for the Deaf.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Teacher of the Deaf and class teachers to promote inclusion and engagement in all learning experiences.
- Use BSL to facilitate communication and ensure Deaf pupils can participate fully in the curriculum.
- Foster independence in learning and encourage participation in various aspects of school life.
- Support the learning and educational progress of pupils with hearing impairments through small group and one-to-one interventions.
Requirements:
- BSL Level 1 qualification or above and experience of working within a primary school.
- The ability and willingness to understand the needs of students from different social backgrounds and sensory impairments.
