About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated General Practitioner to join our team at Westgate Surgery. As an autonomous practitioner, you will be responsible for providing medical services to our registered patients, delivering high-quality care while adhering to the GMS contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver excellent clinical care to patients, participating in enhanced services and achieving QOF targets.
  • Offer generic prescribing, adhering to local and national guidance.
  • Maintain accurate clinical records, following good practice, policy, and guidance.
  • Work collaboratively with the practice team and wider PCN team.
  • Adhere to best practice, clinical guidelines, and the audit process.
  • Attend and contribute to practice meetings as required.
  • Ensure compliance with the appraisal process.
  • Provide reports for employers, solicitors, and insurance companies, and complete medical certificates and benefit agency forms.
  • Ensure private fees are properly recouped and accounted for.
  • Prepare and complete the revalidation process.
  • Commit to self-learning and instill an ethos of continuing professional development across the practice team.
  • Support the training of medical students from all clinical disciplines.
  • Support the partners in achieving the strategic aims of the practice.
  • Review and adhere to practice protocols and policies.

Requirements
  • National Performers List registration.
  • Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU).
  • Eligibility to practice in the UK independently.
  • General understanding of the GMS contract.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
  • Clear, polite telephone manner.
  • Effective time management (planning and organizing).
  • Ability to work as a team member and autonomously.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to follow clinical policy and procedure.

  • Competent in the use of Office and Outlook.
  • Experience with clinical risk management.
Qualifications
  • Qualified GP.
  • General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT).
  • Full GMC registration.
  • MRCGP.
  • Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP.
