Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer: Integration and Test

Leonardo is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team in Luton. As a key member of our Combat Air business group, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in system integration, test, verification, validation, and trials activities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to system integration, test, verification, validation, and trials activities
  • Support project milestones and deliverables
  • Manage day-to-day tasking of junior engineers
  • Develop mentoring and coaching skills
  • Lead sub-system level testing and evaluation
  • Produce, analyze, and document test data
  • Support engineering design reviews
  • Achieve acceptance/certification from relevant design authorities
  • Provide sub-system functional knowledge to direct system testing
  • Ensure evidence accumulation from System-level activity
  • Support the definition and undertaking of system acceptance test procedures
  • Derive interface/functional design requirements
  • Support software/hardware teams with development of low-level functionality
  • Engage with customer network to ensure suitability of integration activities and timelines
  • Support development of the overall system trials strategy
Requirements:
  • Ability to obtain at least SC Clearance for UK-caveated programmes
  • Solid foundation in a relevant technical domain, ideally in an airborne/EW systems application
  • Experience of performing IV&V activities, including authoring test plans, procedures, and reports
  • Demonstrable experience in writing and reviewing high-quality technical documentation
  • Experience of engineering gate reviews and the associated assessment of design compliance
  • Ability to cope with a high degree of design complexity and managing uncertainty
  • Experience of supporting design/delivery teams to develop complex, technical solutions in accordance with plans and processes
  • Self-motivated with an aptitude for problem solving and driving difficult issues to conclusion
  • Strong communicator, both written and verbal
  • Experience of working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders of varying seniorities
Desirable:
  • Experience with product design and test standards for military systems
  • Experience of Synthetic Environments and their use in developing the overall engineering solution
