Electrical Systems Engineer

A&P Falmouth, a leading ship-repair complex in the UK, is seeking highly skilled Electrical Systems Engineers to join our team. As a key member of our operations, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems aboard various vessels as well as within our facility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, maintain and repair electrical systems on marine vessels and within our facility
- Conduct inspections, diagnose electrical issues, and implement solutions to ensure the safety and functionality of electrical systems
- Interpret electrical diagrams and technical specifications to plan and implement electrical installations and repairs
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other tradespeople to coordinate electrical work and ensure the timely completion of projects
Requirements:
- Completion of recognised apprenticeship or vocational training in Electrical Engineering (e.g. NVQ level 3) or equivalent experience
- Experience working in a shipyard environment and/or on marine vessels would be advantageous
- Strong knowledge of marine electrical systems, including wiring, lighting, communication systems, navigation equipment, and power generation systems
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve electrical issues
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to work in confined spaces, heights, and outdoor conditions
