Hourly Rate: £12.89

Salary: £22,880 - £23,880 pro rata per annum (Term Time Only)

Hours: 18.33

Contract Duration: Temporary until 31/12/

Please note that the annual salary advertised is for a full-time role, based on 35.00/37.00 hours per week. If the position you are applying for is part-time or you are only going to be working part of the year, i.e., a term-time contract for 38 or 39 weeks per year, the annual salary will be paid on a pro-rata basis including a number of additional weeks for annual leave entitlement when the position is term-time.

Role Overview

The Inclusion team at Scottish Borders Council is seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to support pupils with additional needs. As a Support Worker, you will work closely with teaching staff to provide individualized support and promote inclusive learning environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to pupils with additional needs, including communication, written tasks, and use of IT
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as toileting and cleaning up
  • Supervise pupils during intervals and lunchtimes
  • Prepare resources and materials as required
  • Liaise with teachers and other support staff to ensure effective support

Requirements

No formal qualifications are required, but an acceptable standard of school education is desirable. Additional Needs Assistants will be required to undertake on-the-job training as and when available.
