About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Bridge Engineering Team Leader to join our Infrastructure and Transportation team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the management of the Council's road structure assets, including bridges and retaining walls.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the inspection and assessment regime for road structure assets.
  • Provide technical approval for new structures on public roads.
  • Manage abnormal indivisible load movements.
  • Develop, prioritize, and deliver a program of capital and revenue work to ensure a safe and well-maintained road structures stock.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant subject.
  • Incorporated or Chartered Membership of either ICE or IStructE.
  • Substantial knowledge and experience in a relevant field.
  • Proven track record of delivering projects and service priorities.
  • Ability to achieve project milestones and targets.
  • Proven experience of developing successful working relationships with contractors and professional service providers.
  • Experience of NEC contract management.
  • Demonstrable experience in asset management and planning.
  • Capital and revenue budgetary experience.
