We are seeking an experienced AWS Platform Engineer to join our growing cloud infrastructure team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and a proven track record of designing, implementing, and managing scalable cloud environments.

The successful candidate will be operating in a compliant multi-account cloud environment building packaged, reusable cloud products. They will be adept at thinking creatively to devise workarounds prior to formal problem analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive CI/CD: Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines with Azure DevOps, GitLab CI, AWS CodePipeline, and other tools.
  • Monitor & Optimize: Set up and manage monitoring and alerting systems (e.g., CloudWatch including Synthetic monitoring) to ensure peak performance and cost-efficiency.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with development, DevOps, and IT teams to deliver a platform and cloud solutions that meet their needs.

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in AWS Public Cloud development and implementation, particularly in automation and serverless architecture.
  • Proven experience in developing/coding in a production environment with efficient and scalable code/automation.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, YAML) and familiarity with code versioning tools.
  • Fundamental understanding of ITSM, ITIL, and continual service improvement.
  • Experience within the financial industry, including knowledge of relevant standards and regulations.
  • IT industry-recognised certifications are preferred.
