Private Client Lawyer

A well-established law firm in the Surrey area is seeking a Private Client Solicitor to join their busy and profitable team at Ashville Knight.

This role will be based out of their Guildford office and will be fully office-based.

Applicants will have experience dealing with private client matters across the board, including:

  • Wills drafting and estate planning
  • Probate administration and estate management
  • Court of Protection and Lasting Powers of Attorney
  • Tax planning and advice
  • Trust set up and administration
  • Limited contentious probate work

The chosen candidate must have been running a caseload, with supervision and be happy to be involved in business development and networking.

Duties will include:

  • Independently managing own varied caseload of private client matters
  • Providing high-quality, timely, professional advice on Wills, Probate, and Estate administration
  • Promoting a compassionate and sensitive disposition client experience when dealing with the elderly or incapacitated
  • Proactively networking and marketing within the team to generate new business and reputation
  • Attending clients in their own environment as required
  • Mentoring and assisting more junior team members
  • Maintaining good billing records within the team

Desired skills include:

  • Fee-earning experience essential within Private Client with at least 1 year's PQE+
  • Proven track record of meeting targets
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • STEP is desirable but not essential
  • Business development and networking skills
