Main Duties of the Job
The post involves the provision of specialist psychological assessment and therapy, primarily for young people aged 14-35, who are considered to be at high risk of developing serious mental health difficulties or presenting with first episode psychosis. Our Early Intervention Service works with those with At Risk Mental State (ARMS).

Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Doctorate-level qualification in psychology, registered qualification, and CBT or specialist CBT certificate diploma
Desirable Criteria
- Post-qualifying experience delivering therapy for psychosis
Experience
Essential Criteria
- Experience working in a multidisciplinary team (MDT)
- Experience applying CBT to a range of mental health difficulties
- Experience conducting high-quality risk assessments and risk management plans
- Experience formulating and delivering formulation-driven interventions
- Experience managing complex safeguarding and risk presentations
Desirable Criteria
- Experience working with children from 14 years and up and adapting therapy accordingly
- Experience of family interventions for psychosis
- Experience supervising the delivery of psychological approaches and providing supervision to non-psychologists
Knowledge
Essential Criteria
- High level of knowledge about evidence-based psychological therapies, including CBT, for anxiety disorders
Desirable Criteria
- High level of knowledge about the evidence base for psychological interventions for an at-risk mental state and prevention of deterioration in serious mental health difficulties
Skills
Essential Criteria
- Ability to interact appropriately with people at risk of developing psychosis, those with first episode psychosis, clients with complex presentations, and their carers and relatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
