English Graduate Teaching Assistant Opportunity

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated English graduate to join our team as a teaching assistant in a secondary school in Cheadle, rated 'Good' by Ofsted. This full-time position starts in October and runs until the end of the academic year, with the potential for the role to become permanent based on performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist English teachers with lesson preparation, delivery, and classroom activities
  • Provide targeted support to students, helping them improve their reading, writing, and comprehension skills
  • Support students with varying abilities, including those who may need extra help to reach their full potential
  • Help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive and focused learning environment
  • Assist with marking, assessing students' progress, and providing feedback under the guidance of teaching staff
  • Support the delivery of extra-curricular activities, such as English clubs, reading groups, or drama projects
  • Act as a role model, inspiring students to engage with English and improve their literacy skills
Requirements:
  • A recent graduate with a degree in English, Literature, or a related field
  • A passion for education and an interest in pursuing a career in teaching
  • Strong subject knowledge in English and excellent communication skills
  • The ability to engage and motivate students in their studies
  • A proactive, patient, and supportive approach to helping students with different learning needs
