About the Role

Ribbons and Reeves is seeking a dedicated Speech and Language Teaching Assistant to join our team in a Secondary School setting. As a Speech and Language Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with communication challenges and helping them succeed academically and socially.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to students with speech and language difficulties, assisting them in developing effective communication skills.
  • Collaborate with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals to implement bespoke intervention programmes.
  • Support students in accessing the curriculum and fully participating in classroom activities, ensuring their specific needs are met.
  • Monitor progress and adapt support strategies to ensure each student's individual communication challenges are addressed.
  • Encourage students' social and emotional development, helping to build their confidence and ability to interact effectively with peers and staff.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a background or keen interest in Speech and Language Therapy, and be eager to support students with communication challenges. You will also need to be able to work collaboratively with the SENCO, teachers, and external professionals to implement effective support strategies.
