We are seeking an experienced and skilled Surgical Ward Manager to lead our dynamic and forward-thinking team at one of the UK's most respected private hospital groups.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Oversee the department in achieving key performance indicators, ensuring efficient and safe operations.
- Team Oversight: Provide line management and leadership for the inpatient services team, including recruitment, induction, training, performance review, personal development planning, and handling disciplinary and grievance matters.
- Complaint and Feedback Resolution: Manage and resolve complaints and patient feedback in alignment with our policies.
- Financial Management: Ensure effective systems are in place for stock management, financial compliance, and collaboration with the Finance Manager for budget adherence.
- Audits and Compliance: Oversee departmental audits and reviews, implementing and completing action plans in response to findings.
- Service Development: Collaborate with the Business Development Team to grow the service and meet targets, including attracting new consultants.
- External Relations: Foster and maintain strong working relationships with external organisations to standardise and share best practices.
- Clinical Governance: Embed clinical governance and risk management into daily practice.
- Registered Nurse (NMC Pin): Required.
- Acute Environment Experience: Essential.
- Clinical Management Experience: Ideally, experience on a busy surgical ward.
- Professional and Clinical Competence: Demonstrated across a range of skills, supported by state registration and additional training.
- Private Hospital Experience: Preferred but not essential.
- Ward Manager Experience: Ability to start with minimal training or acclimatisation.
