Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to Transport for London's (TfL) corporate work in adapting to climate change. The role will focus on contributing to key elements of TfL's corporate environment initiatives, with a specific emphasis on leading the implementation and monitoring of the organisation's Climate Change Adaptation Plan.

Key Accountabilities
  • Championing the Corporate Environment Plan: Provide guidance and support across the business to ensure effective implementation and awareness of the plan's objectives and strategies.
  • Climate Risk Management: Collaborate with the business to better understand climate risks and improve climate risk management practices.
  • Adaptation Plan Implementation: Work closely with stakeholders to implement and monitor actions outlined in the Climate Change Adaptation Plan.
  • Best Practice Sharing: Establish a network of internal and external contacts to share best practices and identify collaborative projects that enhance environmental sustainability.
  • Performance Improvement: Develop innovative ideas for performance improvements and work with the business to evaluate and prepare business cases for implementation.
  • Diversity and Inclusion: Serve as a role model for diversity and inclusion, driving change within the function and influencing positive outcomes across the directorate and beyond.
  • Safety, Health & Environment: Be a champion and advocate for safety, health, and environment in all aspects of work.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess:

  • A strong understanding of environmental management regulations and the challenges faced by TfL.
  • Experience in designing and evaluating initiatives to enhance corporate environmental performance.
  • Knowledge of management systems and their application in an organisational setting.
  • Exceptional ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and high-quality expectations.
