Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Cloud Video Platform Engineer to join our team at Sky. As a key member of our Content Technology and Innovation team, you will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining cloud and on-prem systems focusing on video acquisition, encoding, processing, and multi-distribution platform broadcasting and streaming for Italy, UK, and Germany services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work in a team to build the next generation cloud video platform, ensuring the best possible video experience is delivered to our customers across all Sky's propositions (Broadcast & OTT streaming).
  • Participate in the architecture design of new systems.
  • Collaborate with developers to build multivendor system integration and automation tools using GitOps approach and CI/CD workflow.
  • Implement monitoring solutions for readiness and operational teams.
  • Provide support to operational teams for both on-prem and cloud video processing systems.

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of principal scripting languages like bash, python, and Restful API.
  • Experience in the use of public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) in a production environment.
  • Knowledge of Broadcast standards (DVB-S/S2, Mpeg2 TS, ETR290) and broadcast equipment (encoders, multiplexers, modulators) is a plus.
