About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Youth Mental Health Specialist to join our team at East London NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Wellbeing in Newham Schools Team, you will work closely with children, young people, families, and school staff to provide CBT-based interventions and support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions for mild-to-moderate mental health issues in educational settings across the borough.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with professionals, agencies, charities, and teams providing services to children and/or young people in the community.
  • Action the 3 core functions of an MHST: deliver evidence-based interventions, support senior mental health leads in schools or colleges, and give timely advice to school staff and liaison with external specialist services.
Requirements
  • A registerable professional qualification in a relevant subject (EMHP, CWP, CBT Therapy) from a UK university or overseas qualification of an equivalent standard.
  • Evidence of continuous and relevant professional training and development (CPD), as appropriate with qualification period.
  • Experience working with children and young people with mild to moderate emotional and behavioural needs.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to work effectively across organisational boundaries.
