Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Associate to join our team at the Office for Nuclear Regulation. As a Nuclear Associate, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and secure operation of nuclear facilities across the UK.

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities
  • Support experienced inspectors in regulating the construction of new nuclear build and the decommissioning of legacy facilities.
  • Contribute to the development of technical guidance and the assessment of safety submissions.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify and manage human factors issues that impact safe and secure operations.
  • Develop and maintain a deep understanding of human factors principles and their application in the nuclear sector.
Requirements
  • A relevant degree-level qualification in a field such as Human Factors, Psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Graduate membership of the Chartered Institute for Ergonomics and Human Factors or the British Psychological Society.
  • Experience of applying human factors in the nuclear sector or a high-hazard industry sector.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and flexibly with stakeholders.
