Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Hernshead Recruitment Ltd. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for creating engineering solutions on a variety of projects, with a focus on mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop new mechanical systems and components using 3D CAD software, producing detail drawings to BS8888.
  2. Manage projects from concept design to in-service investigation, including finite element analysis and testing.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design solutions meet customer requirements and are manufactured efficiently.
  4. Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and other stakeholders.
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, applying this knowledge to improve design solutions and processes.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in mechanical design and development, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to apply theoretical knowledge to practical problems.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD software, including Inventor and/or CATIA/Solidworks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to meeting deadlines and priorities.
