Rate to SSC: £560.63 per day

Contract Type: PAYE through Umbrella


Role Overview

Pharaoh Capital is seeking a seasoned x86 Hardware Product SME to provide expert guidance and technical direction for x86 server hardware, ensuring the alignment of technical strategies with business needs.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with the CTO and product management teams to define the technical direction for x86 server hardware.
  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between business units, architecture, engineering teams, and vendors.
  • Manage vendor relationships, including service escalation and ongoing vendor management.
  • Stay informed about available x86 hardware bundles, and the firmware/microcode release cycle, and ensure that these are effectively communicated and integrated within the organization.
  • Provide expert guidance on architectural, operational, security, and other technical matters.
  • Certify overlaying operating systems (Windows, RedHat, ESXi) on x86 server hardware.
  • Address security and compliance requirements, particularly within large financial institutions.
  • Innovate deployment methodologies and enhance service integration using APIs.
  • Utilize agile practices and tools such as JIRA and Confluence to manage projects and tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, influencing decisions and driving strategic outcomes.
  • Collaborate with globally distributed teams, including 3rd party vendors.
Essential Skills and Experience
  • Expertise in x86 Server Hardware and components, particularly with Dell, Lenovo, and HPE in large, complex enterprise environments.
  • Deep technical knowledge of remote server management software such as iDRAC, XCC, and iLO.
  • Proven experience in certifying Windows, RedHat, and ESXi operating systems on x86 hardware.
  • Strong understanding of security and compliance, especially within the financial sector.
  • Familiarity with the integration of services in data-driven organizations using APIs.
  • Experience with agile practices and tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence).
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and work effectively within globally distributed teams.
  • A passion for technology and solving complex IT operations challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience with compute, hypervisors, storage, and networks.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of current tools, technologies, and regulatory requirements, particularly in areas like cybersecurity, data privacy, and data residency.
