Job Summary

Leeds Bradford Airport is seeking a highly skilled and physically fit Airport Firefighter to join our team. As an Airport Firefighter, you will be responsible for responding to aircraft emergencies and incidents, providing firefighting assistance, and undertaking rescue and firefighting duties in line with Aerodrome regulation UK Reg (EU)139/2014 standards.

Main Responsibilities

  • Attend all aircraft emergencies or incidents across the aerodrome.
  • Provide Firefighting assistance to save life at an aircraft accident as required.
  • Undertake rescue and firefighting duties in line with Aerodrome regulation UK Reg (EU)139/2014 standards and senior Fire service management.
  • Adhere to Civilian Aviation publication CAP 699 Standards for Competency of Rescue and Firefighting Service personnel throughout your career.
  • Provide first aid assistance.
  • Carry out vehicle and equipment checks to maintain an immediate response of the Airport Fire service throughout the 24-hour operation.
  • Comply with all legal and statutory obligations applicable to this role.
  • Undertake other general airfield duties, bird control and surface inspection duties as required.
  • Airfield pavement marking as required.
  • Undertake any other duties required by LBA during the hours of operation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Must hold a valid certificate to confirm competence in the role of Airport Firefighter.
  • High level of physical fitness to meet and maintain LBA fitness and medical standards.
  • Breathing Apparatus wearer.
  • First Aid at work qualification.
  • Current UK driving licence.

Desirable for Role

  • First Aid to Immediate Emergency Care level (IEC) or equivalent.
  • LGVLicence holder.

Other Requirements

Basic DBS certificate and 5-year history background check.
