About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Blue Arrow Ltd. As an Agency Chef, you will be responsible for providing culinary expertise to a variety of catering and hospitality businesses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and run your section of the kitchen, including meat, fish, vegetables, pastry, butchery, sauces, grill, starches, starters, fry, pantry, and roast.
  • Supervise, engage, and teach Commis Chefs and Kitchen Assistants.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Produce high-quality food and demonstrate excellent culinary skills.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy working environment, adhering to HACCP and food hygiene standards.
  • Monitor portion and waste control to maintain profit margins.
  • Assist in creating menu items, recipes, and developing dishes with the Head Chef and Sous Chef.
Requirements
  • City & Guilds 706/1 or 706/2 in Catering or equivalent qualification.
  • NVQ/SVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in Hospitality or Catering.
  • Level 1 and 2 Food Safety Awards.
  • Minimum 1 year's relevant experience in a kitchen environment.
  • Awareness of manual handling techniques and Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) and chemical safety.
  • Experience with kitchen equipment, including different knives.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
