Job Title: Electrical Production Engineer

Join our team as an Electrical Production Engineer and play a key role in supporting operations by designing and producing test equipment for sub-assembly and LRU/RMA testing, writing test plans, and providing technical support to improve processes and resolve technical issues in production.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as the interface between Engineering and Production teams from a test perspective, determining in-process testing requirements to improve build quality and reduce rework time.
  • Provide electrical and test support to resolve engineering production issues, minimizing production delays.
  • Design and develop test equipment, and assist in the procurement of equipment, jigs, and fixtures.
  • Develop test plans and procedures, and coordinate production engineering processes to ensure high-quality products meet customer requirements.
  • Support the implementation of Change Requests (CRs) in collaboration with Engineering.
  • Identify, develop, and implement process improvements to enhance production capacity, quality, and reliability, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Assist the quality department with inspections and investigations.
  • Aid in budget preparation and monitor expenses.
  • Perform engineering analysis to reduce downtime and outages in test and production assembly equipment.
  • Fault-find electromechanical equipment, investigate problems, analyze root causes, and provide resolutions.
  • Stay updated with product specifications, engineering technology, and production processes.
  • Occasionally travel to assist customers with technical and production issues, ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with production staff training, transferring knowledge within the workplace.
  • Adhere to company procedures, policies, and goals, maintaining the company's good reputation.
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed at all times, working in a conscientious and safe manner.
  • Follow procedures as outlined in the Quality Manual.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and orderly office and workshop, ensuring good project housekeeping.
  • Continuously reflect on and improve personal performance.
Requirements:
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in a test/engineering environment and/or a qualification such as BTEC/City & Guilds Level 2.
  • Strong knowledge of testing electrical and electromechanical equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading complex technical drawings, including wiring and PCB schematics.
  • Excellent computer skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for a wide range of audiences.
