About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant with a specialisation in working with students with autism to join our team at Parker Smith Inclusion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one support to students with autism in various classroom activities, including social and behavioural interventions.
  • Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of each student.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment by promoting positive social interactions, communication skills, and self-regulation strategies.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of student performance, behaviour, and progress towards goals.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills related to working with students with autism.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, special education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with autism, personally or professionally, is essential.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and parents/guardians are required.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with individuals with special needs are essential qualities for this role.
