Job Title: Senior Commodities Lawyer

Citigroup Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Commodities Lawyer to join our Legal team. As a Senior Commodities Lawyer, you will be responsible for providing legal analysis, advice, and guidance on commodities trading activities, including physical commodity financing and trading, as well as financial derivatives products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on commodities trading activities, including physical commodity financing and trading, as well as financial derivatives products.
  • Develop and execute strategies for the Commodities Legal team, in partnership with Legal colleagues globally.
  • Support the development of medium-to-long term plans and functional strategies for the Commodities Business.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Lawyer with relevant industry experience, including experience in an in-house legal role.
  • Expertise and transactional experience in a range of physical and financial commodities transactions and products.
  • Familiarity with the requirements applicable to a commodities business within a bank, including an awareness of US bank regulatory considerations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws and practices across jurisdictions, including those related to shipping, environmental risk issues, and the taking of legal security.
