PolyAI is pushing the boundaries of AI-driven customer service, enabling businesses to provide seamless interactions across all touchpoints.

We are seeking a talented Backend Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the development of our innovative no-code platform. In this role, you will be responsible for making dialogue systems accessible to non-tech team members, building up a data pipeline for machine learning and generating data insight for customers. Collaborating with a diverse engineering team, you will contribute to a cohesive and scalable codebase. Your focus includes implementing new features on our platform analytics offering.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Developing a no-code platform to empower non-technical staff to configure intricate dialogue systems and create new voice experiences for users.
  • Contributing to the implementation of our multi-tenant infrastructure.
  • Taking a major role in our software development, through writing code, tests, as well as contributing to design ideas, documents and performing code reviews.
  • Collaborating with other engineers to improve both your own and their code, promoting a unified development environment.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years programming experience in a software engineering role, with strong proficiency in Python
  • Experience working with relational and non-relational databases, query optimisation and designing schemas
  • Hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and maintaining RESTful APIs
  • Demonstrated understanding of system design, data structures, algorithms, and complexity analysis
  • Can work well both in a team and independently
  • Proficient verbal and written English skills
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, a relevant technical field or equivalent practical experience

Estimated Salary: $160,000 - $220,000 per year, depending on location and experience.
