Job Description

Creegan Talent is seeking a highly experienced and hands-on Operations Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day logistics operations, manage a small team, and ensure the smooth and timely movement of goods.

About the Role:

  • Supervise a small but dynamic team of logistics professionals
  • Be the primary point of contact for clients and build strong relationships with both existing and new clients
  • Have complete operational oversight, including system monitoring and reporting using specialist software
  • Be responsible for driver and warehouse coordination
  • Liaise with external organisations such as Customs & Excise

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the movement of goods, including imports and exports
  • Develop and implement logistics solutions to meet client needs
  • Monitor and report on operational performance, including financial metrics such as profit margins and cost management
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, colleagues, and external partners

Requirements:

  • At least 5+ years of experience in both imports and exports within the freight forwarding industry
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships, understanding customer needs and providing tailored logistics solutions
  • Experience managing a small team, with the ability to mentor, motivate, and lead by example
  • Willingness to take ownership of tasks and see them through to completion, ensuring high-quality service from start to finish
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to handle issues such as delays, customs challenges, and last-minute changes in shipment plans
  • Proficient in logistics software (including CDS and BoxTop), with an understanding of financial metrics such as profit margins and cost management
  • Full UK Driving Licence
