Assistant Accountant Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team at Recruitment Solutions (North West) Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial support to our clients, ensuring accurate and timely financial records, and contributing to the overall success of our business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Transactions: Record and process financial transactions using accounting software, such as Xero, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Invoice and Payment Management: Prepare and process invoices, receipts, and payments, ensuring timely and accurate financial records.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and detect any discrepancies.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, ensuring timely payments and accurate financial records.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate financial reports, including balance sheets and income statements, to provide insights into our business performance.
  • Assistance with Budgeting: Assist with budgeting, financial forecasting, and reporting to ensure our business remains on track.
  • Financial Record-Keeping: Maintain organized and accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Payroll Management: Oversee payroll across our team of 25 staff members, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • VAT Preparation and Expense Reporting: Manage VAT preparation and expense reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Petty Cash and Stock Control: Handle petty cash and stock control, ensuring accurate and timely financial records.
Key Skills:
  • Accounting Software Proficiency: Proficiency in accounting software, such as Sage, QuickBooks, and Xero.
  • Bookkeeping Principles: Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles and practices.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in accounting or bookkeeping.
  • Adaptability: Fast learner with the ability to quickly adapt to new systems and processes.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Analytical Skills: Analytical skills to identify discrepancies and errors.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
