Job Title: Utilities Billing Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Utilities Billing Specialist to join our team at Zero Trace Procurement. As a Utilities Billing Specialist, you will be responsible for obtaining and validating bills from various suppliers, identifying errors and savings opportunities for our clients, and ensuring timely and accurate billing processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain bills from supplier portals, emails, and other sources.
  • Validate EDI and paper bills for all suppliers and utility types, including gas, electricity, water, heat, MOP, and other commodities.
  • Upload PDF copies of bills as required by clients.
  • Raise billing queries with suppliers and see them through to resolution.
  • Investigate and respond to internal and external queries.
  • Review and update tasks.
  • Identify inefficiencies in systems and processes and suggest changes or developments.
  • Attend meetings with clients or suppliers as required.
  • Prepare missing bill reports and work with suppliers to obtain missing bills, including historic bills.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel.
  • Basic understanding of energy billing and customer service principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Intermediate Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and concatenation.
  • Experience working in an energy consultancy environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Power BI.
