Clinical Responsibilities:

  • Routine Consultations: Diagnose and manage a range of small animal cases, providing preventative healthcare advice and ongoing treatment for various conditions.
  • Surgical Procedures: Confidently perform routine and non-routine surgeries, including neutering, soft tissue surgeries, and minor orthopedic procedures.
  • Medical Diagnostics: Utilize diagnostic tools such as blood tests, radiography, and ultrasound to diagnose and treat patients.
  • Client Communication: Provide clear, compassionate advice and treatment plans to pet owners, maintaining strong client relationships.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with veterinary nurses and support staff to deliver the highest standard of care.
Requirements
  • RCVS Registration: You must be fully registered with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) to practice as a veterinary surgeon in the UK.
  • Confident Surgical and Consulting Skills: You should be comfortable handling a range of small animal surgeries and consulting confidently with clients.
  • Compassion and Communication: Excellent communication skills and the ability to deliver compassionate care to pets and clear advice to their owners.
  • Commitment to Continuous Learning: A commitment to staying updated with the latest developments in veterinary care through ongoing professional development.
