This is an exciting opportunity to join the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (WAHT) Cardiopulmonary team as an Inventory Management Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and delivering inventory management solutions, providing administrative support to clinical teams, and working closely with procurement teams to optimize stock levels and reduce costs.
Main Responsibilities- Implement and manage inventory at department level, acting as a primary point of contact and attending ward department meetings as required.
- Provide expert advice on usage trends, stock levels, product range, and stock management procedures to clinical/department managers, with close working relationships to the procurement team across the Trust.
- Review and resolve all discrepancies concerning stock by liaising with clinicians, customers, and external suppliers as appropriate, and advise on appropriate action for uplifts and return policies.
- Analyze virtual and face-to-face clinic slots/physiologist time to maximize availability.
- Call patients prior to appointments to ensure reduced DNA% and increased clinic availability.
- Contact patients whose remote monitors are disconnected, with explanation and advice on how to reconnect to the transmitter.
- Be responsible for the successful management of the relationship between clinical and non-clinical staff within departments through regular meetings and contact with managers to identify and resolve stock issues.
- Communicate regularly with department staff specific to both Cardiology and Respiratory consumables and stock levels.
- Maintain strong links with industry and companies associated with Cardiopulmonary stock.
