Financial Operations Specialist

At Manchester Chamber, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Operations Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and financial services, with a proven track record of managing financial operations and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage all facets of the financial operations process, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger.
  • Post all financial activity to the general ledger on a weekly basis.
  • Work closely with the Philanthropy Office to reconcile all fundraising activities.
  • Maintain reconciliations of assigned account numbers.
  • Maintain files and documentation accurately in accordance with accepted accounting practices.
  • Work in tandem with other departments on proper collection/processing of payments for events held at or for Manchester Chamber.
  • Responsible for temporarily restricted gift management.
  • Prepare journal entries and spreadsheets, in the performance of accounting, budget, and financial analysis work.
  • Perform the month-end close process and reconciliation of assigned ledgers.
  • Prepare and oversee all required financial documents for the annual audit.
  • Work closely with the Controller, Enrollment, and CFO on all matters relating to Net Tuition Revenue (NTR).
  • Work closely with the Controller, Facilities Director, and CFO on all matters relating to transportation.
  • Perform monthly bank reconciliations of all Manchester Chamber cash accounts.
  • Prepare annual renewal of the School's property, plant & equipment insurance.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience in an accounting office.
  • Minimum of 7 years experience using accounting software.
  • Strong computer and Excel skills a must.
