About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Systems Engineer to join our team at Kinetica UK Ltd. This role involves ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment, diagnosing and resolving technical issues, and implementing preventive maintenance schedules.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Equipment Maintenance: Develop and implement comprehensive maintenance schedules for all manufacturing equipment and facilities.
  2. Troubleshooting: Promptly respond to equipment breakdowns, identifying short-term corrective actions and implementing longer-term preventive measures as necessary.
  3. Collaboration: Work with operational staff and the Automation and Maintenance Engineer to identify opportunities for introducing new equipment and automated systems.
  4. Business Development: Support the development of business cases for implementing new equipment and automated systems, aimed at increasing the financial contribution of the operational unit through improved efficiency, utilization, and capacity.
  5. Facilities Management: Liaise with Facilities staff to ensure the support, maintenance, and implementation of infrastructure systems necessary for manufacturing operation.
  6. Cost-Effective Solutions: Identify cost-effective methods and systems to implement a preventative maintenance schedule for all operational equipment, in alignment with equipment availability targets set by the Manufacturing Team Leader and Manufacturing Manager.
  7. Contract Management: Ensure that contracts are established with relevant third-party providers for service and maintenance when necessary.
  8. Documentation: Determine the documentation requirements for preventative maintenance schedules, including recording service and maintenance histories and relevant performance specifications.
  9. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records and documentation within the Quality Management System (QMS).
  10. Equipment Support: Respond promptly to requests from the Manufacturing team to assess and address equipment breakdowns or malfunctions, taking appropriate remedial action to minimize loss of output.
  11. Automation Opportunities: Collaborate with operational staff to identify potential automation opportunities, prioritize them based on business needs, and propose them to the Manufacturing Team Leader and Automation and Maintenance Engineer for consideration in business case preparation.
  12. System Implementation: Support the Manufacturing Team Leader and Automation and Maintenance Engineer in the timely and budget-conscious introduction of automated systems and equipment to ensure that identified business cases are fully realized upon implementation completion.
  13. Infrastructure Support: Assist the Facilities Team in caring for and maintaining infrastructure systems on-site, such as HVAC, compressors, and electrical supplies.
  14. Training and Education: Provide training, education, and support to shop floor staff in the use, care, and operational maintenance of automation and other shop floor equipment.
  15. Environmental Policy: Maintain the Approved Environmental Policy Statement among all staff members, ensuring awareness and adherence to environmental regulations and practices.
  16. Hazardous Waste Disposal: Safely decontaminate and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
  17. Project Documentation: Prepare project documentation in accordance with relevant standards and company requirements.
Requirements:
  1. Qualifications: Electrical or mechanical engineering qualification.
  2. Experience: Experience working in an automated manufacturing environment.
  3. Regulated Environment: Experience maintaining equipment in a highly regulated manufacturing department.
  4. Equipment Repair: Experience repairing manufacturing automation equipment.
  5. Flexibility: A flexible approach to work.
