About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Design Engineer to join our team in Sheffield. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality design output for our clients in the clean water and wastewater infrastructure sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Undertake detailed design work on below ground wastewater and clean water infrastructure projects for water company clients.
  • Agree design philosophy and design fundamentals.
  • Allocate and manage CAD output from technicians.
  • Take personal responsibility for delivering design output to agreed time, cost, and quality requirements.
  • Assist Project Managers in ensuring the delivery of projects on time and to budget.
  • Represent the company at meetings with clients, contractors, and fellow professionals.
  • Undertake site visits to gather information and data.
  • Liaise with statutory service providers.
  • Document and drawing reviews.
  • Liaise with clients, design teams, and contractors.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and experience of wastewater and clean water infrastructure design, including attenuation design and flow balancing.
  • Good appreciation of design delivery, health, safety, and environmental processes.
  • Ability to undertake multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Good numerical, analytical, and IT skills.
  • The ability to communicate in a fluent and positive manner with other team members and to produce reports in clear English.
  • Experience with AutoCAD beneficial.
  • Civil Engineering degree or equivalent (essential).
  • Full UK driving licence.
