Clinical Nurse Specialist for Paediatric Neuro-Oncology

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at Kings College Hospital. The successful candidate will work with children and young people with brain and spine tumours, providing expert nursing care and support.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to meet the objectives of the NICE Improving Outcomes Guidance for Children and Young People with Cancer. This will involve assessing patients, planning and implementing care, providing specialist advice, and providing education and training to other staff and students.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in paediatric neuro-oncology and experience of working with children and young people with complex health needs. They will also have excellent communication and leadership skills, and be able to work effectively as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities- Assess health, health-related and nursing needs of patients, their families and other carers
- Develop and implement care plans to meet the needs of patients
- Provide specialist advice and education to other staff and students
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to meet the objectives of the NICE Improving Outcomes Guidance for Children and Young People with Cancer
- NMC Part 1 (Children)
- Recognised teaching/mentoring qualification
- A clinical expert either through formal qualification (Degree / Masters) and/or extensive clinical experience pertinent to Neuro-Oncology
- Advanced clinical assessment skills, or willingness to develop these
