In this key position, you will play a vital role in managing the company's daily finances and providing critical financial insights to senior management. Key Responsibilities- Prepare monthly management accounts and provide insightful analysis to inform business decisions.
- Maintain accurate cash flow forecasts, including daily bank reconciliations and weekly reporting.
- Raise payments for authorization in line with credit supplier agreements and ensure timely payments.
- Oversee payroll processes, including gathering employee information, liaising with external providers, and reconciling accounts.
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and post month-end journal entries.
- Prepare and communicate supplier and customer statement reconciliations.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business performance.
- Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
- Support the annual audit process and complete any mandatory company returns.
- Prepare margin analysis and forecasts based on customer and project financials.
- Monitor and report fleet costs, including maintenance trends and fuel usage.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual company budget and quarterly updates.
- Control petty cash and ensure accurate financial records.
- Support the office administrator with sales and purchase invoice processing.
- Manage company insurances, business rates, leasing, health scheme, and company cars.
- Provide accounting and reporting support for any subsidiaries as acquired or created.
- Perform other ad-hoc activities as required, including capital expenditure requisitions, bespoke reporting, and business planning.Requirements
- Part-qualified accountant (QBE considered) with relevant experience.
- Sound analytical skills with good attention to detail.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and self-management skills.
- Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Flexible, proactive, and willing approach with a strong team player mindset.
- Innovative and inquisitive mind to challenge and improve processes and controls.
- Understanding of financial data and analytical ability.
- Ability to produce accurate work and meet targets.
- Current UK driving license and right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
