In this key position, you will play a vital role in managing the company's daily finances and providing critical financial insights to senior management. As a Company Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining all financial and balance sheet schedules, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting, and adhering to financial policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Prepare monthly management accounts and provide insightful analysis to inform business decisions.
  2. Maintain accurate cash flow forecasts, including daily bank reconciliations and weekly reporting.
  3. Raise payments for authorization in line with credit supplier agreements and ensure timely payments.
  4. Oversee payroll processes, including gathering employee information, liaising with external providers, and reconciling accounts.
  5. Perform balance sheet reconciliations and post month-end journal entries.
  6. Prepare and communicate supplier and customer statement reconciliations.
  7. Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure business performance.
  8. Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  9. Support the annual audit process and complete any mandatory company returns.
  10. Prepare margin analysis and forecasts based on customer and project financials.
  11. Monitor and report fleet costs, including maintenance trends and fuel usage.
  12. Assist with the preparation of the annual company budget and quarterly updates.
  13. Control petty cash and ensure accurate financial records.
  14. Support the office administrator with sales and purchase invoice processing.
  15. Manage company insurances, business rates, leasing, health scheme, and company cars.
  16. Provide accounting and reporting support for any subsidiaries as acquired or created.
  17. Perform other ad-hoc activities as required, including capital expenditure requisitions, bespoke reporting, and business planning.Requirements
    • Part-qualified accountant (QBE considered) with relevant experience.
    • Sound analytical skills with good attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and self-management skills.
    • Ability to communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
    • Flexible, proactive, and willing approach with a strong team player mindset.
    • Innovative and inquisitive mind to challenge and improve processes and controls.
    • Understanding of financial data and analytical ability.
    • Ability to produce accurate work and meet targets.
    • Current UK driving license and right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
