About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Aggreko. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of new and existing products to improve their performance, efficiency, and reliability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and provide design input for the development of new and existing products.
  • Agree general approach, priorities, and milestones with Product Engineering Managers.
  • Plan and drive each task/project to complete to specification and on time.
  • Define system test and validation requirements for new product developments.
  • Approve test results from development test for new product developments.
  • Work with key suppliers to ensure the best use of available technologies/components.
  • Facilitate and lead design reviews of assigned product developments.
Requirements
  • Degree in a Mechanical or Electrical Engineering discipline with relevant industry experience in design of industrial machines.
  • Formal training in product development and design.
  • Chartered Engineer preferred.
  • Fully qualified, seasoned professional engineer with sufficient expertise to resolve a variety of issues/problems.
  • Experience in leading design and development of gas or diesel reciprocating powered generator packages.
  • Brings real-world experience to design, constantly exploring alternative solutions that enhance the performance of designs.
  • Experience of a design/development role in a commercially demanding manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to work to tight timescales, under pressure, while maintaining the correct level of quality.
