Job Description:

We are seeking a talented Procurement Specialist - Materials Management to join our team at the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). As a key member of our procurement team, you will play a vital role in managing our inventory and supply chain operations. With a strong focus on process improvement and cost reduction, the ideal candidate will develop and implement best practice inventory control procedures to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent discrepancies.

This exciting opportunity requires a highly organised and detail-oriented individual who can effectively use inventory management principles to optimise stock levels while reducing stockouts and overstock situations. You will work closely with the commodity manager to source materials and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers, ensuring timely and cost-effective materials supply. Additionally, you will coordinate with the sales and commodity teams to forecast demand and manage inventory replenishment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement best practice inventory control procedures to ensure optimal stock levels and prevent discrepancies.
  • Work closely with the commodity manager to source materials and negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers.
  • Coordinate with the sales and commodity teams to forecast demand and manage inventory replenishment.
  • Maintain and enhance plant purchasing and supply chain policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and productivity.


Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in planning, purchasing, and inventory control within a manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of MRP systems and Oracle business systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
