The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and drive the delivery of essential engineering workstreams for the Sizewell C nuclear power plant project. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of major project complexities, including managing interfaces between different scope areas.

The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the nuclear power plant systems, structures, and components (SSCs) with a focus on maximizing replication from Hinkley Point C and preparing for key contract awards. They will also ensure timely delivery of engineering studies, either by the Responsible Designer or contractors, and manage internal and external interfaces to coordinate design and delivery.

The ideal candidate will have a background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems, or civil engineering for large industrial plants and excellent communication skills with both clients and contractors. They will also have experience coordinating engineers, consultants, and advisors on large, complex projects and proven success in managing and developing engineering design, contract, and field execution strategies.

The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team working on one of the most exciting and largest megaprojects in the UK, contributing to the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy. They will have the opportunity to work on a project that will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, supporting Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.

The Role

The Project Manager will be responsible for:

  • Overseeing the nuclear power plant systems, structures, and components (SSCs) with a focus on maximizing replication from Hinkley Point C and preparing for key contract awards.
  • Ensuring timely delivery of engineering studies, either by the Responsible Designer or contractors.
  • Managing internal and external interfaces to coordinate design and delivery.
  • Coordinating engineers, consultants, and advisors on large, complex projects.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A background in mechanical, electrical, process, systems, or civil engineering for large industrial plants.
  • Excellent communication skills with both clients and contractors.
  • Experience coordinating engineers, consultants, and advisors on large, complex projects.
  • Proven success in managing and developing engineering design, contract, and field execution strategies.
