Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced History Education Specialist to join our team at Twinkl. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting the creation of high-quality resources and disseminating training to ensure our content is aligned with current practice and takes a sensitive approach.

Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert advice on terminology and best practice in History education;
  • Communicating your knowledge of the National Curriculum for History in England to various teams;
  • Reviewing and providing feedback on existing resources to ensure they reflect current practice and take a sensitive approach;
  • Collaborating with product teams to develop new resources and content that meet the needs of schools and teachers;
  • Staying up-to-date with curriculum changes, new teaching practices, and trends in History education, and advising on their impact on our Twinkl offering;
  • Planning and delivering training sessions on best practice in History education;
  • Working with the History product team to maintain our internal guidance and style sheet;
  • Maintaining relationships with other organizations and seeking new partnerships;
  • Attending schools to see resources in action and talk to teachers;
  • Managing projects and delegating tasks as needed.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Extensive experience of teaching History and a deep understanding of the National Curriculum for History in England;
  • Knowledge of the Ofsted Subject Review for History and its implications for resources;
  • Understanding of how children's learning and development progresses from age 5+;
  • Drive for continuous professional development;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various teams;
  • Strong communication and feedback skills.
