We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to join our team on a part-time basis. This 12-month contract will involve working 15 hours per week, either two full days or split.
Key Responsibilities:- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to execute project-related activities.
- Assist in and coordinate activities related to testing new product developments, evaluating prototypes, developing and validating test methods, and maintaining lab records.
- Participate in production trials, including the hand assembly of trial/pilot batches of medical products and potential visits to manufacturing sites.
- Work in a laboratory environment in Ebbw Vale.
- Technical background with experience working in a regulated laboratory environment.
- Chemistry or Life Sciences qualification, A level or degree or similar.
- Knowledge of test systems, preferably in vitro systems, ideally physical/analytical testing of materials & prototypes.
- Knowledge of materials used in the medical field, especially wound care, would be an advantage but not essential.
- Computer and math literate, e.g. use of Microsoft Office applications.
- Salary £23,000 - £25,231 (full-time equivalent).
- 26 days holiday + public holidays (pro-rata).
