About the Role:

Holland & Barrett is seeking a seasoned Tooling and Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team for a 6-month fixed-term contract. This pivotal role involves developing and maintaining automation workflows, integrating systems, and creating user stories to meet the unique needs of various business units.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with Holland & Barrett business units to gather requirements and create detailed user stories.
  2. Design, develop, and implement automation solutions to streamline workflows and enhance team efficiency.
  3. Integrate Jira with other tools and systems to facilitate seamless data flow and task management.
  4. Utilize Zapier or Tines to build and maintain complex automation workflows.
  5. Continuously evaluate and improve existing automation processes.
  6. Document all automation workflows, integrations, and system configurations.
  7. Provide support for tooling and automation already in production.
  8. Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate team members on new tools and automation processes.
  9. Champion the use of our tooling and automation across the wider business.
  10. Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in tooling and automation.

Key Requirements:

  • Excellent technical knowledge.
  • Experience in creating new processes and procedures for IT service.
  • Ability to effectively communicate at all management levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Team-oriented with a strong customer service focus.
  • Proactive and able to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to present ideas/solutions in user-friendly language.
  • Understanding of Holland & Barrett's goals and objectives.
  • Reliable and flexible.
  • Full driving license (to attend head office when required).

Essential Experience:

  • Previous experience in a tooling and automation engineering role or similar.
  • Proven experience with Jira, including advanced configurations and integrations.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Zapier, Tines, or similar automation platforms.
  • Demonstrated ability to create detailed user stories and delivery plans.

Desired Experience:

  • Understanding of dashboard creation and data structuring in Metabase, PowerBI, Google Data Studio, or other BI software.
