SQL Data Analyst

This position is part of our Credit Management Department, which handles activities related to the collection of unpaid energy bills and other companies within the Ecotricity Group.
As a technical expert, you will design, scope, develop, and deliver data solutions to meet stakeholder requests, while identifying opportunities to improve data insights.
About YouWe are seeking an experienced data analyst with a proven track record in BI, data manipulation, and problem-solving. You will have experience in building relationships and mentoring junior team members. The role requires strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to convey key information in various formats, providing delivery timescales and using stakeholder management skills to communicate these.
Knowledge of the Energy industry is beneficial but not essential.

- Review reporting methods and processes, maximising the opportunity to automate wherever possible.
- Act as a key point of contact for both regulatory and operational reporting.
- Strong working knowledge of SQL for data analysis (MS-SQL/Databricks - T-SQL, View and table design, Experience of ETL)
- Strong technical analytical skills as a Data Analyst
- Managing and manipulating data experience
- Stakeholder management and facilitation of decisions of all sizes
- Strong presentation skills for engaging senior stakeholders
- Ability to handle high pressure situations
- Writing complex SQL queries for data retrieval and manipulation across multiple tables / data sources.
- Selected candidates will undergo a practical SQL test to assess proficiency. At a minimum applicants will require a comprehensive understanding of query Joins and its application within SQL queries.
- A resilient 'can do' attitude. Demonstrating persistence to work through complex problems independently.
- The role is Hybrid and requires the successful candidate to work in the Stroud (UK) office 3 days per week with the remaining days working from home.
- A keen eye for detail and accuracy in delivery to requirements.

Ecotricity is Britain's greenest energy company. Our mission is to change the way energy is made and used in Britain by replacing fossil fuels with clean, renewable energy.
We don't just supply green energy, we use the money from our customers' bills to make it ourselves too – we build windmills and sun parks in Britain. We call this 'bills in to mills'. In 2021, we started work on building two new solar parks, and now, in 2023, we're bringing geothermal energy to our customers' fuel mix, a first in the UK. We're also developing green gas mills which will generate 100% green gas from a source that we will never run out of – grass.
We don't just focus on energy though – we built Electric Highways, Britain's leading network of electric vehicle charging points, we helped Forest Green Rovers become the greenest football club in the world, and, in partnership with RSPB, we launched Britain's greenest mobile phone service, Ecotalk.
