Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Food Safety Specialist to contribute to our commitment to excellence in the food industry. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment where their expertise can make a significant impact.

This role involves working closely with various departments to enhance and maintain our Quality Management System. Your efforts will be key in New Product Development, Existing Product Development, and managing Customer Specification Systems for both product packaging and raw materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure Quality & Compliance: Support external audits by ensuring complete traceability from supplier to end customer and assist in GMP hygiene and internal audits.
  • Work closely with our Food Technologist and other teams to manage risk assessments, specifications for raw materials, and supplier compliance.
  • Maintain the raw material supplier database and keep customer portals accurate and up to date with relevant information.
  • Organise and conduct supplier visits, ensure all suppliers meet approval status, and foster strong supplier relationships.
  • Develop and maintain product specifications, assess ingredient suitability and compliance, and manage related systems and databases.
  • Participate in internal audits and assist in capturing and coordinating responses during food safety alerts.

Requirements:

  • A proactive, detail-oriented professional with a strong background in the food industry.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Experience with quality management systems and supplier compliance.
  • Deep understanding of food safety standards and regulations.
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Estimated Salary: £36,000 per annum based on location and experience.
