Culinary Specialist

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Culinary Specialist to join our team at Nightingale Nursing & Care Home. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality food services to our residents, guests, and visitors.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and develop a safe, professional, and cost-effective catering service within company operational standards and comply with all statutory requirements.
- Ensure that all residents are provided with enough choice of nutritious meals and snacks throughout the day, broadly following standard menus.
- Make food orders punctually two times a week and ensure that food costs are within budget throughout the year.
Requirements:
- Basic or intermediate Food Safety Certificate.
- Contractually willing to work towards a Level 3 catering qualification if not already held.
- Two years' catering experience.
- One year's experience of managing people.
- Knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.
- Experience conducting effective person-centered one-to-ones.
- Live within 25 minutes of the Home.
Preferred Requirements:
- One year's experience working in a similar role in a residential or nursing home.
- Hold a Level 3 qualification.
- One year's experience in a similar role.
- Two years' catering experience in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience creating nutritious, well-balanced, and attractive menus.
- Managing/training a team.
- Budgeting and control of purchasing.
- Motivating and working within a team.
- Using new products and developments in the catering industry.
- One year's experience of working as a Chef in a Hospital, Nursing Home, or Residential Home.
- Conducting effective person-centered one-to-ones.
About Nightingale Nursing & Care Home:
Nightingale Nursing & Care Home is based in the center of Edwinstowe, near Mansfield. The home, although purpose-built, has been made very homely, and has a selection of garden areas, in line with Jasmine's values and ethos. The home provides personal, nursing, and dementia care to 49 residents.
