The Bread Factory Limited is a Food Manufacturing bakery that crafts deliciously crafted bread, cakes, and pastries. We pride ourselves on producing products for our GAIL's bakeries, neighborhood grocery stores, restaurants, and more.

We are seeking a Health and Safety Consultant to join our team in Hendon. As a key member of our team, you will advise and support our senior management team on all health and safety issues, ensuring the business is up to date on all H&S legislation.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Carry out health and safety risk assessments and ensure all risks are highlighted with elimination or mitigation plans.
  2. Lead investigations into all accidents and ensure records of accidents and near misses are kept up to date and reported to the senior management team at the correct frequency.
  3. Carry out health and safety inductions and training for the business in conjunction with the learning and development team.
  4. Manage fire risk and fire prevention processes.
  5. Ensure regular reviews are in place to monitor the performance of the business against KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
  6. Manage all external contractors who carry out work on-site to ensure they are meeting all legislative requirements for the work they are completing.
  7. Work in conjunction with internal stakeholders to ensure all project work is completed to the correct H&S legislation and that The Bread Factory is fully compliant.
  8. Support site teams with scheduled inspections and reports relating to buildings and equipment.
  9. Outline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards.
  10. Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented.
  11. Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements.
  12. Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers.
  13. Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry.
  14. Attend IOSH webinars or training courses and read professional journals.
  15. Produce management reports, newsletters, and bulletins.
  16. Ensure equipment is installed safely under PUWER regulations.
  17. Manage and organize the safe disposal of hazardous substances.
  18. Advise on a range of specialist areas, e.g., fire regulations, hazardous substances, noise, safeguarding machinery, and occupational diseases.
  19. Lead and chair Health and Safety committee meetings.
