About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Court Advocate to join our team at Legal Aid Ontario. As a Court Advocate, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional client service to individuals navigating the criminal justice system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist unrepresented clients with complex legal issues
  • Represent clients at bail hearings, guilty pleas, and remands
  • Provide summary legal advice to clients in-person and remotely
  • Collaborate with colleagues to prepare for court proceedings

Requirements:

  • Licensed lawyer with experience in criminal law
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
